Prof. Ing. Jiří Málek, DrSc. was elected by the Academic Senate of the University of Pardubice as a candidate for the position of the Rector of the University in October last year for the forthcoming four-year term of office 2018-2022, with effect from 1 February 2018.
Prof. Málek is a renowned and reputable expert in the scientific community in the Czech Republic as well as abroad.
He is not a newcomer in the management of the University of Pardubice. In 2000-2006, he was Vice-Rector for Research and from 2006 to 2010 he was head of the University of Pardubice as its Rector. He has extensive experience in the management of university education and scientific activities, both directly at the University of Pardubice and from the nationwide point of view. His home scientific workplace is the Department of Physical Chemistry, Faculty of Chemical Technology, University of Pardubice, being its head for the past few years.
In recent years, he has been significantly involved at the national level in the evaluation of research performances of research organizations, from 2008 to 2015 as a member and later as Vice-Chairman of the Research, Development and Innovation Council, and as Chairman of the Commission for the Evaluation of Results of Research Organizations and Completed Programmes.
The new rector of the University of Pardubice Professor Jiří Málek has chosen for his closest colleagues in the University management and vice-rectors:
- Prof. Ing. Tatiana Molková, Ph.D. - who will act as Vice-Rector for Education and Student Affairs and at the same time as his statutory representative;
- Prof. PhDr. Petr Vorel, CSc. - Vice-Rector for Research;
- Ing. Andrea Koblížková, Ph.D. - Vice-Rector for Development;
- Prof. Ing. Miroslav Ludwig, CSc. – Vice-Rector for Internal Affairs.
