The international students and staff at UPCE decided to turn the unlucky Friday the 13th into a day to pause during the pre-Christmas period and meet with colleagues.

With the help of the International Office, they discovered when and why St. Nicholas and the Three Kings walk around Pardubice, what's behind the golden pig, and what to put under the plate at Christmas Eve dinner. Some of this was new to them, while for others it was a refresher.

Those who were interested got creative, floating candles in nutshell boats on the water, decorating gingerbread, or making Christmas decorations, while chatting in the meantime.  It was a great chance to get to know each other better. We found out who doesn't celebrate Christmas, who will be staying in Pardubice, who will be meeting their family, and we even got the recipe for kutia and other specialties.

Thank you all for a lovely evening!
