Thank you for great attedance at the Christmas tree lightning at he University of Pardubice!
The Christmas Wish Tree is already decorating the University of Pardubice campus. Hundreds of people came to the symbolic lighting of the decorated tree, which this year is also accompanied by dozens of personal wishes of students and academics.
Libor Čapek, the rector of the University of Pardubice, counted down the lighting of the university tree. To the accompaniment of well-known Christmas hits, students, employees and other interested parties could try to make a Christmas decoration together with the Faculty of Chemical Technology or write a letter toChrist child or their loved ones using the "goose quill". There were also surprises in the form of nice and funny messages, which they drew with the Jan Perner Transport Faculty and the sale of university merch. Thanks to the university's International Office, they could learn about some of the foreign Christmas customs.
In addition to having fun and getting to know each other, visitors also helped out. Not only by buying a charity mulled wine, the proceeds of which amounted to 21 345 CZK went to the development of the Veská Children's Centre, but also by collecting products from the regional Charity or from the Chance for Oncolates (Šance onkoláčkům) Foundation.
Dozens of student cards, which the university has been projecting onto the dormitory building since Wednesday, can traditionally be read by passers-by throughout Advent.
Students and employees of the University of Pardubice have been helping and contributing financially to a good cause in the run-up to Christmas. In cooperation with the Pardubice Regional Charity, they created more than a hundred Advent wreaths, the sale of which supported home hospice care with a record amount of CZK 30,300.
