The proposed project will enable the improvement of Clinical Biochemistry education within the degree course ?Analysis of Biological Materials? and ?Bioanalytic?. The newly established laboratory exercise exposes students to current clinical laboratory practice. Dried blood spot (DBS) technique has found use in newborn screening for congenital metabolic disease. Currently there is great interest in simple and non-invasive methods of blood sample collection. DBS technique meets these requirements; moreover, advantages of DBS sampling, compared to conventional blood collection, include minimal volume requirements (microliters), ease of transport to laboratory, ease of sample storage and stability of measured analytes.
The project is focused on the development of new types of materials, use and application of new techniques for surface treatment and pretreatment with high levels of know-how substantially improved functionality. New coatings will be effective and achieve tailored properties and will meet present or future environmental demands. It is aimed to commercialize the results and coordinate them with EU and CR priorities. The research topics are defined in long term horizon.
The project will study load to the lumbar spine in occupational activities related to risk factors for the development of chronic lower back diseases (manual manipulation of heavy loads, lifting, turning, bending etc.) using the Tecnomatix JACK method. Based on the results, hygiene, clinical and radiological criteria for recognizing selected types of these conditions as occupational diseases will be defined.
While epidemiological studies show a significant contribution of work load to lower back diseases in certain types of occupational diseases at a group level, the developed method should allow assessment at a level of individual persons. This represents qualitative progress as compared with previous assessment methods.

We are making a map which located the exterior stone, and ceramic, mosaics within the Czech Republic.

The map is also the "front-end" for a populated database of each location. The database includes:
documentation of each mosaic, information and descriptions of individual mosaics, highlighted mosaics suitable for conservation treatments, procedures for conservation of various types of mural mosaics.

Supplmenting this database, we are exploring: mosaic conservation procedures and approaches, testing suitable materials and procedures for conservation of mosaics, applying conservation treatments with selected materials and procedures.

The Czech Republic is rich with stucco work from the renaissance era. Through interdisciplinary research between historians, restorers and heritage care workers, renaissance and mannerism stucco works from the Czech and Moravian territories, through to 1620, will be cataloged. This will be the starting point for synthetic processing of these works, and for their respectful placement within the broader Central European historical context.

The goal of the submitted project is namely:
a) Research of preparation of special cellulosic matrix (films, dimensional 3D-structures and dimensional textiles, composites and its combination with other biopolymers (natural polysaccharides and peptides), or other physiologically active substances.
b) Design of prototypes of matrixes applicable as matrixes for active dressings in wound healing, surgery, or matrixes for tissue engineering. The research will be focused on fading of optimal technology of preparation of matrixes, surface treatment of materials, and incorporation of additives, e.g. biologically active substances or nanoparticles. The matrixes can be applied further in combination with drugs with a purpose of prolongation and effectiveness of required therapy (systems of drug delivery).
c) Creation of conditions for further interdisciplinary cooperation in clinical research in wound healing, clinical microbiology, burn treatment and reconstructive surgery in Czech Republic and abroad.
d) Expansion of production program of a company Holzbecher spol. s r.o. barevna a bělidlo (division Medical) by prospective area of active wound healing and exploiting of built research capacities.
The goal of the project is to summarize and develop the methodology for determination of inhibition and the study of the mechanism of cytostatic effect of the new metallotherapeutics. The testing of certain compounds with a Pt, V, Mo as a central atom will be done on MOLT-4, HL-60 and Jurkat leukemia cell lines. Analytic and spectral methods such as the flow cytometry or the Western blotting combined with the SDS-PAGE and the immunochemical detection will be used to describe the mechanism of the cytotoxic impact. The obtained knowledge and the processed materials will serve to implement new laboratory exercises on master's degree studies. Some bachelor's and master's thesis topics will be further created, concerning the preparation, the description and the determination of the biologic activity of the transition metal complexes.
The project is based on The Long-term Plan for the educational and scientific, reserch, development and innovation, artistic and other creative activities at the University of Pardubice for the period 2016 ? 2020, priority number 1 - the quality of the education. The aim of the project is to support the work of the academic staff and innovation of the education consistent with the rector?s announcement 5/2017 focused on subjects aimed at the education, preventive health care and health promotion. By means of this project, educational models and teaching aids for 15 subjects will be upgraded. The effectiveness of the planned project promotes interdisciplinary and cross-curricular use of models and teaching aids that is described in detail in the supplement.
Project nondestructive diagnostics is focused of the transport structures. Innovation of the practical part dealing with diagnostics, repairs and reconstruction of transport structures. Innovation in teaching soil mechanics, steel bridges, design and build of road construction, theory of structures reliability, concrete Structures and building materials.
