The University of Pardubice has been the member of European University Alliance ACROSS EU (European University Alliance for Cross-Disciplinary and Cross-Territorial Actions) since March 2022.

The ACROSS EU Alliance constitutes a transnational network of pluridisciplinary universities with a common ground and objectives, but diverse enough to provide potential for mutual development and cooperation. They committ at defining long-term common strategies, strongly rooted in their respective governances, and enabling a real mutualization of resources across Europe.

The AcrossEU Alliance project brings together nine universities from eight different European countries:
University of Caen Normandie, France
Lapland University Consortium (with University of Lapland and Lapland University of applied Sciences), Finland
• Univerzita Pardubice, Czech Republic
Università degli Studi di Siena, Italy
Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia
Umeå University, Sweden
Universidad de Valladolid, Spain
Université de Fribourg, Switzerland

AcrossEU will aim to create new paths to interconnect the extensive community represented by its members and their territories. 160 000 students, 20 000 researchers and academic staff, local and regional stakeholders and a combined population of over a million inhabitants will be rallied to address the following major European directives:

• Promote the European and universal values of peace, human rights, inclusionand diversity
• Structure new and inclusive European Universities
• Open up to society by stimulating the creation of new knowledge, facilitating lifelong education and developing active cooperation between scientific research and civil society;
• Support regional growth by stimulating joint research and innovation projects, developing transdisciplinary curriculum and fostering student entrepreneurs.

Through innovative and sustainable forms of cooperation and mobility, AcrossEU will not only connect populations from across Europe but also move their perspectives across different fields of studies and research, building strong transdisciplinary and cross-cultural skills.
