I am an Associate Professor in the field of microbiology and since my graduation in 1997 I have worked at the Department of Biological and Biochemical Sciences of the Faculty of Chemical Technolog (FChT), University of Pardubice (UPCE), where I have actively contributed to its development.
In my research work I deal with microbiological analysis of food and water, evaluation of biocidal effect on paints, development of new disinfenctants and evaluation of the effects of newly developed probiotics.
The results of my research get published. I am author of 26 publications in WoS, and I have actively participated in 25 conferences. One of the outcomes of my scientific work are two patent applications submitted at the Industrial Property Office of the Czech Republic.
I was a co-researcher of four grant projects of the Technological Agency of the Czech Republic and three grant projects of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
My pedagogical activities include supervising the bachelor study programme Analysis of Biological Materials, teaching in laboratories, and giving lectures. Furthermore, I have supervised 18 diploma theses and 40 bachelor theses of students in the study programmes Evaluation and Analysis of Food, Clinical Biology and Chemistry, Analysis of Biological Materials and Bioanalytical Laboratory Diagnostics in Medicine.
I have long-standing pedagogical experience with involvement in popularization events organised by the University and FChT for the public as well as secondary and primary school students, and with supervising students, also in doctoral study programmes.
My hobbies include touring, history, I am interested in chinaware from the first half of the 20th century from the area of Austro-Hungarian Empire.
