University of Pardubice, Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, Department of Education.

My professional specialisation is the history of upbringing, education and education systems, alternative pedagogical approaches, and the conception of quality evaluation in educational process.

I have concerned myself with these research topics since the mid - 1980s, i. e. for almost 40 years.

I can offer experience with publishing articles, studies, and books at home as well as abroad, experience with preparation of lectures and workshops for conferences, finding fundings for research, experience with team cooperation and teaching at universities.

The list of my publications published at home as well as abroad amounts to 10 books, about 100 scientific peer-reviewed studies, more than 300 professional publications and conference papers, I have presented a whole range of invited lectures, attended and organised many workshops, and co-founded several alternative and innovative schools.

I have been employed at the University of Pardubice since 1998. Before that I had worked for 18 years at Charles University in Prague, out of which I spent 3 years at German universities (Bochum, Hannover, Hamburg, Mnichov).

Over the course of the past few decades, I have gained experience with supervising doctoral students at several Czech universities, in terms of project work also at the University of Stockholm. Furthermore, I have experience with supervising people as a Head of Department, Vice-Dean, Dean and Vice-Rector of the University of Pardubice.

I am a member of many international scientific societies and for three years I was leading the European Forum for Freedom in Education (EFFE) based in Bochum, today in Brussels.

As for my free-time activities, I like hiking and visiting cultural sights, gardening, and recreational sport, which I have been doing more and more with my grandchildren.
